Venison Burgers with Root Vegetables



Burger Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground venison or any ground wild game meat. (Please see our ground meat recipe on how to make the perfect blend of ground meat)


  1. Form burgers into patties using a burger press or roll into a ball then flatten onto a baking sheet.

  2. Season burgers with salt & pepper (optional)

  3. Cook burgers on a pre heated bbq grill on med heat until juices run clear (internal temp of 160 degrees)

  4. Serve with your favorite toppings. (Pictured above with lactose free cheddar cheese, red onion, lettuce, Tomato on a homemade GF bun.)


Root Vegetables Ingredients:

  • 3 whole beets

  • 2 whole sweet potatoes

  • 1 red onion

  • 1 butternut squash (optional)

  • olive oil

  • salt and pepper

  • onion powder

  • garlic powder


  1. Peel and dice up the beets, sweet potatoes and butternut squash if using.

  2. Peel off the skin of the red onion. Cut red onion in half and then each half into slices.

  3. Toss all veggies in a large roasting pan with olive oil. Make sure all veggies are coated well with the oil. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper, onion powder and garlic powder.

  4. Turn oven on to 375 degrees (F) Roast in the oven for 45 minutes-1 hour or until veggies are softened. Serve hot.
